Frequently Asked Questions

How many alerts will I receive?

It is difficult to accurately predict the number of alerts that will be issued.

However, please be assured that we understand that you do not want to be swamped with messages from the Municipality. You will only receive alerts that you have subscribed to. You can change your subscription preferences at any time (except for emergency notifications).

Furthermore, we unequivocally commit to not using the portal for promotional or solicitation purposes.

What is the Morin-Heights Citizen Portal?

A web-based platform for citizen participation and alerts by text message and/or e-mail.

Citizens sign up to be informed and receive notifications of:

  • emergency situations (Emergencies);
  • boil water or flushing of the water system (Water Network);
  • events reminders (Recreation, Culture and Community Life);
  • public notices, citizen consultations and council meeting reminders (Municipal Council);
  • work and traffic obstruction notices (Roads).

Will I receive advertising?

No.

We will not use this system for promotional purposes or time solicitation (except for emergency notices).

You will only receive alerts to which you have subscribed. You can change your subscription preferences at any time.

Will this now be the ONLY way to be informed?

No.

The alerts are in addition to the other means of communication deployed by the municipality to inform you. It is a new and complementary tool, not the only one!
