Climate Plan

In progress

The Municipality of Morin-Heights is developing its Climate Plan to respond concretely to the challenges posed by climate change and to strengthen the resilience of its territory.

The process is based on a participatory approach, structured around thematic discussion workshops bringing together citizens, organizations, and local partners. These meetings provide an opportunity to share concrete projects, deepen understanding of local climate issues, and identify solutions tailored to the reality of Morin-Heights.

The discussions inform the development of actions aimed at both:

  • Mitigation, through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the adoption of more sustainable practices;
  • Adaptation, to better address the impacts of climate change already being observed, particularly on infrastructure, natural environments, and quality of life.

This approach highlights positive outcomes for the territory while taking into account existing challenges and the levers available to ensure the implementation of effective and realistic actions. The Climate Plan thus becomes a collective and strategic tool, guided by local expertise, supported by community mobilization, and focused on concrete actions for the benefit of present and future generations.

Morin-Heights Climate Plan Process – Next Steps and Timeline

The Municipality of Morin-Heights is continuing the development of its Climate Plan through a structured, participatory, and phased process, aimed at addressing local climate challenges while mobilizing the community.

A Multi-Stage Consultation Process

The process is based on a series of consultation and engagement activities involving citizens, organizations, socio-economic partners, and municipal bodies. These activities make it possible to gather concerns, share knowledge, and co-develop solutions aligned with local realities.

An Evolving and Mobilizing Process

This approach enables Morin-Heights to adopt a realistic, structured, and shared Climate Plan, grounded in local expertise and active community participation.

The Climate Plan will serve as a reference and action tool, evolving over time to support continuous adaptation, territorial resilience, and the quality of life of current and future generations.
